about The Stables

The Stables building was built in 2008 in the footprint of the original stables of 248 Queens Parade, which has been the home of Clifton Hill Medical Group since 1905.
The Stables provides outpatient consulting rooms and administrative assistance to independent specialist psychiatrists and psychologists, as well as housing a Melbourne Pathology Collection Centre.

Referrals

Psychiatry and psychology patients require a referral from their general practitioner before their initial appointment. These can be faxed or mailed to reception, and the administrative staff will follow up with you regarding an appointment. For regular patients ongoing GP referrals will be required over time for you to claim a Medicare rebate for your visits. Further information is available by phoning reception.

Hours

The Stables Consulting Rooms are open weekdays from 8:30am to 5pm, but each practitioner has their own timetable of days and hours available.
Melbourne Pathology Collection Centre is open from 8:30am to 5pm, and is closed between 1pm and 2pm for lunch.

Fees and Billing

The psychologists and psychologists are independent practitioners, and each set their own fees. Please speak to reception for more information.

After Hours

The Stables Consulting Rooms is not an emergency service, and is not contactable out of hours for urgent care. For urgent assistance out of hours please contact 000, or your local hospital or general practice.

For non-urgent messages there is an answering machine. Phone messages you leave after hours will be dealt with on the next working day.
